Jiashun manufactures heavyweight hoodies in the 380-500 gsm range — loop-back French terry and brushed fleece, cut for boxy and drop-shoulder silhouettes. MOQ starts at 50 pieces; samples ship in 10-15 working days, and bulk production takes 20-30 working days after sample approval.

Built for the 400 GSM-and-up streetwear silhouette

Heavyweight fleece is a structure decision as much as a warmth decision: a boxy or drop-shoulder cut needs enough fabric density to stand rather than drape. Send a tech pack, reference hoodie or target GSM and our team reviews fleece face, weight and construction before quoting — formal quotations follow after sufficient project details are reviewed. Jiashun operates a 3,000 m² cut-and-sew factory in Humen, Dongguan, backed by 10+ years of clothing design and production experience.

Fleece weight, face (loop-back or brushed) and construction are reviewed at design review and locked on a physical sample before bulk. MOQ starts at 50 pieces, while the final minimum depends on the product, fabric, wash and customization.

Heavyweight Hoodies

Production notes

Fabric weight
Fleece is sourced against a target GSM band, then weight and hand-feel are locked on a physical sample before bulk production.
Construction
Boxy and drop-shoulder patterns are cut for the fabric weight they carry; a heavier fleece needs its own pattern, not a scaled-up regular fit.
Shrinkage
Heavier knits shrink differently from lightweight jersey. Patterns carry fabric-specific allowances so the approved sample size holds after washing.

From brief to delivered goods

  1. 01

    Design review and quote

    After project review

Send a tech pack, reference hoodie or target GSM and construction notes. We review fleece face, weight and pattern direction, then reply with a formal quotation after sufficient project details are reviewed.

  2. 02

    Sample development

    10-15 working days

Samples take 10-15 working days; pricing and delivery are confirmed after project review. The sample carries the real fleece weight and face so the hand-feel you approve is what bulk follows.

  3. 03

    Sample review and revisions

    Your pace

Check fabric weight, drape and construction on the physical hoodie. If the fleece needs to move up or down a weight band, we adjust and re-sample before bulk.

  4. 04

    Bulk production

    20-30 working days

Bulk starts after sample approval and material confirmation, with MOQ starting at 50 pieces and the final minimum confirmed after project review.

  5. 05

    QC, packing and shipping

    Confirmed by destination

Each hoodie is checked for weight, seam and print quality before packing to your labels and carton marks. Shipping options are confirmed for the project and destination.

What we build, in detail

Fleece weight bands

Roughly 280-350 gsm reads as a lighter layering hoodie; 380-450 gsm is the heavyweight streetwear sweet spot where structure starts to show; 450-500 gsm is genuinely heavy and stands rather than drapes. We source against your target band and lock it on the sample.

Loop-back vs brushed face

Loop-back French terry keeps its knitted loops intact — it holds a boxy silhouette and wears cooler. Brushed fleece raises those same loops into a soft nap for a warmer hand. Both run across the heavyweight range; the choice is structure versus comfort.

Construction for heavier fabric

Boxy and drop-shoulder builds are cut differently for heavier fleece — a 450 gsm boxy cut stands on its own, while the same pattern in a lighter fleece collapses. Pattern and fabric weight are one decision at design review.

Decoration on heavy fleece

Puff print, dense embroidery and large screen prints all suit heavyweight fleece — the fabric holds the deposit and stitch density that a lighter knit cannot. Artwork is checked against fabric weight before quoting.

Beyond 500 gsm

Ultra-heavyweight fleece in the 600-700 gsm range exists, but it adds a stiffer break-in, longer drying and higher shipping weight for a look a well-knit 450-500 gsm build often already delivers. We flag this trade-off at design review.

Hoodie fleece weight ladder

GSM bands we source against for heavyweight hoodie programs. The final weight, face and construction are confirmed for each project on a physical sample.

Details to define before sampling.

  • Loop-back French terry or brushed fleece from roughly 280 to 500+ gsm
  • Boxy, oversized and drop-shoulder silhouettes cut to hold heavier fabric
  • Pullover, zip-up and washed heavyweight builds
  • Puff print, screen print and embroidery sized for dense fleece
  • Private labels, hang tags and packing for heavyweight programs

Best fit for these buying scenarios.

  • Brands specifying a target GSM instead of a generic "heavy" hoodie brief
  • Streetwear labels building boxy or drop-shoulder silhouettes that need to hold their shape
  • Programs pairing heavyweight fleece with puff print or dense embroidery
  • Buyers moving up from a 280-350 gsm blank to a structured 380 gsm+ build

Built for repeat programs, not one-off orders

  • Fleece weight and face are sourced against your target band and locked on a physical sample before bulk.
  • Boxy and drop-shoulder patterns are cut for the fabric weight they carry, not scaled up from a lighter fit.
  • MOQ starts at 50 pieces; the final minimum depends on the product, fabric, wash and customization.
  • Puff print, screen print and embroidery are run in the same factory that sources and cuts the fleece.

Questions before sending a brief

What GSM counts as a heavyweight hoodie?

Most heavyweight streetwear hoodies sit in the 380-450 gsm band, with 450-500 gsm reading as ultra-heavyweight and rigid enough to stand rather than drape. The exact weight is confirmed on a physical sample before bulk.

Loop-back French terry or brushed fleece — which should I choose?

Dense loop-back French terry holds a structured, boxy silhouette and wears cooler; brushed fleece raises the same knit into a soft nap for a warmer, softer hand. Both run in the heavyweight range — the choice is structure versus comfort.

Do I need 600-700 gsm fleece for a structured look?

Usually not. A well-knit 450-500 gsm loop-back with the right boxy or drop-shoulder pattern delivers the silhouette most 600-700 gsm briefs are chasing, at a lower cost per piece and per shipment.

What construction pairs with heavyweight fleece?

Boxy and drop-shoulder builds lean on fabric structure — a 450 gsm boxy cut stands on its own, while the same pattern in a lighter fleece collapses. Drop shoulder is a construction choice that layers onto any of these fits.

Does heavyweight fleece work with puff print?

Yes — puff print is built for heavy fleece. The thick foam deposit cures flat and even on 380-500 gsm fabric, while the same deposit can pucker on lightweight jersey.

What is the MOQ for a heavyweight hoodie program?

MOQ starts at 50 pieces. The final minimum and colorway breakdown depend on the fleece weight, construction and customization, and are confirmed after project review.

How long does a heavyweight hoodie sample take?

Samples take 10-15 working days, with pricing and delivery confirmed after project review. Bulk production takes 20-30 working days after sample approval.
