Puff is one member of a dimensional family
Puff print is foamed plastisol ink; puff embroidery is thread stitched over foam; chenille is a looped pile patch — three different builds that read as "raised logo" but behave, cost and wear differently. Send artwork, placement and fabric and our team recommends the technique that fits, then quotes after sufficient project details are reviewed. Jiashun operates a 3,000 m² cut-and-sew factory in Humen, Dongguan, backed by 10+ years of clothing design and production experience.

- Puff ink cures around 160°C and stays stable only up to roughly 280-290°F; reheating above that — including ironing — collapses the foam. Care instructions are included in the private-label package by default on puff programs.
- Sequencing
- On washed garments, wash runs before print so the vintage process does not age or reheat the puff. The sample round is where the sequence gets locked.

What we build, in detail
3D puff embroidery
Satin stitching worked over a strip of urethane foam, then the excess foam is trimmed away, leaving a sculptural, stitched relief. It reads more premium than puff print and survives ironing, at a higher cost for the stitch and foam work.
Chenille
A looped moss stitch builds a deep yarn pile — the classic varsity-letter texture — usually run as a patch and appliquéd onto the garment. It trades fine detail for scale: big letters, mascots and chunky marks.
Screen print and flat embroidery
The non-dimensional baseline: screen print works across the full fabric weight range for bold graphics, and flat embroidery handles logos and fine-to-medium detail that puff and chenille cannot resolve.
Fabric pairing
Puff print and puff embroidery both read strongest on dense, smooth or heavyweight fabric — the nap of a brushed hoodie eats some of the relief, so deposit and stitch density are tuned to the specific fabric at sampling.

What is the difference between puff print and 3D puff embroidery?
Puff print is ink foamed by a heat-activated blowing agent; puff embroidery is thread stitched over foam. Puff print reads bold and costs less; puff embroidery reads more premium and survives ironing.
Does puff print crack or peel in the wash?
Properly cured puff wears like any quality plastisol print through normal washing. Its real weak point is heat after cure — ironing or hot tumble drying collapses the raised foam.
Can you puff print fine-line artwork or small text?
Not legibly — the foam expands in every direction and closes small counters and thin strokes. We flag artwork below safe thresholds at design review and bolden it or switch that element to flat print or embroidery.
Does puff work on heavyweight fleece hoodies?
Yes — it is close to the signature streetwear pairing. Denser, smoother fleece faces show the strongest dimension; deposit is tuned to the specific fabric during sampling.
What is chenille best suited for?
Large letters, mascots and chunky varsity-style marks. Chenille is usually run as a patch and appliquéd onto the garment rather than stitched directly, so fine detail is not what it is built for.
