Vintage wash
An umbrella term covering stone wash (pumice-tumbled, most visibly aged), enzyme wash (chemical, softer and more even) and sun-fade (directional fading on shoulders and upper back). Fabric and finish are matched at design review.

Jiashun produces acid wash, garment dye and vintage wash hoodies and tees in Humen, Dongguan — stone wash, enzyme wash, sun-fade and marbled acid wash finishes on heavyweight, high-cotton fabric. MOQ starts at 50 pieces; samples ship in 10-15 working days, and bulk production takes 20-30 working days after sample approval.
Vintage wash, garment dye and acid wash are different processes with different fabric needs and piece-to-piece variation — the right one depends on the look you want, not a generic "wash" line item. Send a reference photo or target garment and our team recommends a finish and fabric direction before quoting. Jiashun operates a 3,000 m² cut-and-sew factory in Humen, Dongguan, backed by 10+ years of clothing design and production experience.
Wash tone, contrast and fabric weight are locked on a physical sample before bulk — reference photos are a starting point, not the approval standard. MOQ starts at 50 pieces, while the final minimum depends on the product, fabric, wash and customization.

Send a reference photo, target garment color and fabric direction. We recommend a wash route — vintage, garment dye or acid wash — and reply with a formal quotation after sufficient project details are reviewed.
Samples take 10-15 working days; pricing and delivery are confirmed after project review. The sample is where wash tone, contrast and post-wash measurements are locked.
Check tone, contrast and hand-feel on the physical garment — washed finishes can only be judged this way. We adjust the recipe and re-sample if the target is not yet right.
Bulk starts after sample approval and material confirmation, with MOQ starting at 50 pieces and the final minimum confirmed after project review. Wash batches need a workable load for consistent results.
Each piece is checked against the approved sample tone and range before packing to your labels and carton marks. Shipping options are confirmed for the project and destination.

Garments are cut and sewn from undyed, prepared-for-dye fabric, then dyed as a finished piece — seams and stitching take the dye along with the body. 100% cotton takes it evenly; blends go heathered.
Bleach-soaked stones tumble against the garment, stripping color wherever they touch. No two pieces match. The effect reads strongest on black, charcoal or navy bases and needs sturdy, high-cotton fabric to survive the process.
Stone and acid washing are the most physically demanding of the three — heavyweight, high-cotton fleece or French terry holds up best. Garment dye and enzyme wash are gentler and suit a wider fabric range.
Printing over a wash gives clean graphics on a textured ground; washing over a print ages the artwork with the fabric. Both are valid — the sequence is a spec decision made before sampling.
How vintage wash, garment dye and acid wash differ in look, fabric needs and piece-to-piece variation.
| Finish | The look | Best fabric | Piece-to-piece variation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vintage wash (stone / enzyme / sun-fade) | Softened, gently aged, muted color | High-cotton fleece or terry; enzyme suits lighter knits too | Moderate — enzyme is the most consistent |
| Garment dye | Deep, tonal color with a faded-in-one-piece look | 100% cotton (blends dye heathered, not flat) | Low to moderate; small shifts between dye batches |
| Acid wash | High-contrast, marbled bleach pattern | Heavyweight, high-cotton fleece or dense French terry | Highest — every piece is unique |

Garment dyeing adds color to a finished garment sewn from undyed fabric; vintage washing removes or softens color from a garment already dyed. They can also be combined — garment dye followed by an enzyme wash is a common premium recipe.
Acid wash tumbles the garment with bleach-soaked stones, which is physically demanding on the fibers. Heavyweight, high-cotton fleece or dense French terry holds up; light jerseys risk thinning or tearing.
It depends on the finish. Enzyme washes are nearly uniform, stone wash and sun-fade vary moderately, and acid wash makes every piece visibly unique. Some variation is inherent to garment washing.
Usually, yes — send the reference and your fabric choice and we engineer toward it. Because the outcome is design-dependent, the exact tone is locked through a physical sample, not a photo.
Yes, though jersey behaves differently from fleece — knits absorb the bleach effect deeper, so the contrast reads softer than on denim or heavyweight fleece.
